Custom Order

A couple weeks ago a lady asked me if i could make a garter for her sister's wedding. I had never attempted to make anything like a garter or any wedding accessories. However it was pretty straight forward and quite fun to try my hand at something completley different to what i usually do. Made from some pretty lace i added a blue ribbon (something blue)and tied it in a bow at the front, added clear, white and pearly beads and to finish off added a vintage looking bow brooch. The customer was very happy with it, as was i, what do you think?

A stitch in time saves nine...

Although this has already sold i thought i would share a picture of this cute sewing box.

The wooden box has beautiful colourful patterns, im not sure what kind of style it is but i think it looks a bit boho. It isn't intended to be a sewing box but a customer had the great idea of turning it into one and filling it with threads that i stock and i made a little pink pin cushion that fits inside. Cute? What do you think?

Shop>> New Addition

A new little addition to the shop. I needed something to fill a gap in the wall after i sold some framed art work. So i decided to hand painted and hand stitched onto calico a sweet little blue tit. I chose a blue tit because of their lovely mix of vibrant colours and added some hand emboirdery for a little bit of extra detail. I decided to paint the wooden frame a vibrant duck egg colour to compliment the colours of the blue tit and to make it stand out against the cream wall.... hope you like!

Flo Rida

Back in November time i made cushions and flat samples for my Final Major Project at college.

One of the flat samples was Florida themed, the only reason it was a flat sample rather than a cushion was due to lack of time. After the project had been handed in my Mum asked if she could have the Florida sample for our home in Florida. Rather than just framing or hanging it i made it into a cushion.

Here it is in its new home.

My very first Etsy sale

I am happy to say that over the weekend i made my very first Etsy sale.
My lovely San Francisco cushion was snapped up by Harriet from London. Although it has been in my shop for a few months now im sad to see it go. But there are still two cushions left in my Etsy shop, why not pop over for a gander?

update

Feels like i haven't blogged in a while, truth is i don't think i have done anything of interest to share.

Today i ticked off everything on my 'to do list' first time in a loooong time... maybe forever.

I began embroidering a cushion i printed a few weeks back. It's a birthday present for our neighbour in Florida so i only have 4 weeks to get it finished EEEK! I can't wait!

Today i also made a little something for my friends Mum's wedding which is on Friday. I think im going to frame it, hope she will like it.

Bulldog Print

A British inspired print which i have then embroidered into.
This design was originally created for a lamp which i printed for a friend but i like the bulldog so much im experimenting with framing some of the prints and printing them onto cushions. Stay tuned.
