wow, i haven't posted in a while

So blogging has now resumed. The final major project was handed in last Monday, since them I have been cleaning up the path of destruction I left whilst battling to pull together my FMP... and of course catching up on some day time TV.

Next week we are all back in uni to begin putting up our degree show. I haven't actually got any photographs of my final collection but once the show is up i'll get some photographs up. Now the hunt is on for a degree show dress, i'm thinking maxi dress.

I have also been uploading my work to the Arts Thread website which should be up and running sometime in late May.

So i thought i best update you on what ive been getting up to since my last post.
I have been battling to try and get my 12 final pieces for my final major project along with my professional studies pack.


My presidential wallpaper which i love! But in all honesty has been the bain of
my life and the reason for some tears and temper tantrums. It has been really hard and time consuming to get it right but im happy with the outcome.

My Mount Rushmore cushion which is devore onto grey velvet.
Its kind of hard to get a good photograph of because of how the light hits the velevet. The cushion is only pinned around the cushion inserts and not constructed yet just to get an idea of how the cushion will.

So the easter holidays are coming to an end and would have liked to have had lots more finals produced. So i now have 3 weeks left to work my butt off, wish me luck!!

I have set up my very own etsy store!
It's a bit bare at the moment, it needs jazzing up with a banner etc but i will do that when i have a spare few minutes or so.
At the moment only have 3 items on there which i made for my minor project at college all the others i made are either just flat samples or got sold at Indigo.
In time i will make sure to get some more stock in.

wallpaper repeat

I've begun printing my presidential wallpaper repeat and it has been hell! Im finding it so hard to print evenly on paper, way harder than printing onto fabric which seems a bit backwards. It has taken me best part of this week to get to grips with it but i still haven't perfected it yet, hopefully i will have the final repeat complete by Monday, if not i may cry!
The photo below is what i have worked on so far but isn't the final design. Not all the imagery has been printed correctly as im still trying to perfect the pressure on the squeejie during pull throughs.

business cards

Just got my business cards and mini cards through the post today. They've got me all excited but i dont quite know why?

developing & sampling

Still continuing with development of my designs which seems to be taking forever and a day. Probably doesn't help that im so indecisive.

So i figured it was about time i got myself into the print rooms and started some sampling. I have been trying out my eagle cushion design, on organic cotton and natural cream wool. The majority of this is handpainted pigment so takes some time, think i may embroider into the eagle to add some more colour and texture.
Glad to be actually starting with sampling i feel like i am starting to get somewhere but still have a long way to go, 1 sample down 10 to go!
